Communication is an integral part of our day to day life. It is thus necessary that any individual develops an ability to communicate effectively and develop reasoning patterns that are essential in decision making. This chapter focuses on how logic is exploited to exercise the ability of the mind to reason and in the process construct appropriate sentences for effective communication. In this chapter, a symbolic form has been used to construct both simple and compound sentences. This paper seeks to describe the hardest part of chapter 3 and the reason as to why logic was included in this course. The paper will also evaluate the similarities between set theory and logic. In chapter 3, what appeared to be the most challenging was constructing a statement in symbolic form. Specifically, rewriting a negative sentence in symbolic form proved a hard nut to crack. I also found it hard to symbolically connect two simple sentences into a compound sentence. Furthermore, writing a symbolic statement into words had its own challenges. These parts were found to be the hardest in chapter 3.
