EXPECT TO WRITE IN ESSAY FORMAT - Your compare and contrast will be a ONE paged essay bearing a introduction, body and conclusion. You may write up to TWO pages if need be. and definitions

ARTIST, TITLE, DATE - at the top of your essay, you will write who the artist is, the title of the work and the date in which it was completed. You will be comparing 2 images. On the upper left hand side of your paper please write out ARTIST, TITLE, DATE of one image and on the right side of your paper write out the ARTIST, TITLE, DATE. After doing this, you can refer to either image as "L" for left and "R" for right as you proceed throughout the body of your work.

LOOK FOR THE RUBRIC - When your test is uploaded, look for the rubric that assists you on who I will be grading each paper.

HAVE A STRONG THESIS - A strong thesis will provide you with a focused guide to what you will will be saying in your compare and contrast. What exactly will you be discussing should be presented in your thesis.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST IN A MIXED FASHION - When you compare and contrast avoid listing. Listing is where one writes all the things that are similar and all the things that are different. A true compare and contrast has a mix of similarities and differences followed by another similarity.

SUMMATION (CONCLUSION) - Ensure that your conclusion shares an independent thought or idea that has been discovered because of the compare and contrast. In other words, what "aha" moment did you stumble upon by having done the study. Also, avoid stating "I think or my opinion is". This lessens the level of professional approach in a written account, especially if it is a critique.
