The society just like ancient times is filled with preconceived ideologies whereby girls and boys, men and women have been arbitrarily allotted roles, duties, and characteristics that are consequently limited by to their specific gender. Various scholars associate the impacts of gender stereotyping with limits to development as it can hinder individual abilities, natural talents, and educational capabilities. The foundation of gender-specific stereotypes is one coveted in the stereotype itself, that stereotype being submerged in the ugliness of sexism to put it politely, which aids in the reinforcement of ignorant but popular practice of gender bias.

The ideals of gender-based stereotypes are ones that are instilled in us as the youth, and it all begins at puberty. A CNN report acknowledges that puberty uniquely deepens the divide in sexuality whereby boys are turned into predators while girls are perceived as potential targets. It is at this stage girls receive messages like “sit properly” and “don’t wear such short dresses or else boys will devastate your life.” The report argues that such kind of messages is more likely to endorse sex segregation and reinforce gender divisions that are directly associated with power privileges. For instance, once a young woman reaches adolescence, her parents and family begin to take measures to protect her innocence with fear of not losing their family integrity. Further research also indicates that once breast development and menstruation begin, girls are often linked to potential sexual engagements and pregnancy risks. At this stage of their lives, the mobility of girls is far much restricted as compared to boys (Emanuella and Victoria). Parents begin encouraging young girls not walk in secluded areas and encourage them to go out with trusted individuals. The consequences of this restrictions are far reaching as compared to what the parents intend to achieve. For instance, spatial mobility oft
