UNIT ONE INFOGRAPHIC ASSIGNMENT - 20 POINTS
Assignment: The goal is to create an ‘Infographic’ that delivers complex, detailed scientific information in a creative and digestible way. This ‘infographic’ is intended to be used as a study tool for your mid- term; additionally. You can use any software you like to create your infographic, such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, canva.com or other free online infographic software’s. You will submit a single image (jpeg, PDF, or similar) in Moodle.
Possible Topics: Pick ONE topic from the following list.
- What evidence supports Darwin’s theory of natural selection?
- How are living systems organized?
- Compare ionic and covalent bonds.
- What are the properties of water?
- What are the different levels of protein structure?
- Compare prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
- Animal cell structure overview
- Plant cell structure overview
- How are proteins transported through the endomembrane system?
- What makes up the cytoskeleton?
- How are cell membranes structured?
- Compare active and passive transport across membranes.
Grading: You will be graded in equal parts scientific detail/accuracy (10 points) and creativity (10 points). A top scoring infographic will convey relevant, detailed and accurate information in a creative way using a combination of images, text and graphs/charts (as applicable). These DO NOT have to be ‘professional quality’.
