This assignment will take some digging! Don’t give up. Even if you can’t find the top causes of death, some numbers on CODs should be available, e.g. TB, HIV/AIDS, malaria, cancer.
Steps:
- Select United States and the Region of Ohio
- Look for the top causes of death.
- If there are terms you don’t understand, look them up.
- Be sure to note what year your data refers to!
- Download any graphs you find.
- Record data. How many total people have died from what illnesses/diseases? Record this information also by sex, ancestry (if appropriate) and age.
- Analyze your data. Which causes of death are infectious and which are not? What is the top cause/s of death? Who are the individuals dying from this?
- Write a brief (two page) summary of what you have found.
