Global migration is a topic that has received numerous debates and up to date, no precise solution has been met by global leaders to handle this constant issue. Francesco Rocca wrote an article on Global leaders must match fine words on migration with urgent action, which was published in 27th September 2018 by ‘The Guardian’. In this article, Rocca discusses how migrants need to be equally treated like other human beings and they should receive essential services such as protection and any kind of help they require (2018). He further states that most migrants are put in detention after they are arrested by officials of the nations they migrate into such detention centers are in horrible states which affects the well-being of the migrants. Migrants travel through risky routes to seek refuge in other nations while escaping disaster, political disaster, wars, poverty and exploitation in their nations of origin (Rocca, 2018). He further gives an example of Colombia where refugees are welcomed but later face hostility from the nation’s authorities and left unsupported. Governments can establish migration guidelines but this should not justify the unneeded human suffering. Migration is influenced by diverse factors like space and diffusion, which also influence how migrants are treated in host nations and also impact the formulation of migration policies.
