Human resource is an essential resource for any organisation or company. In as much as a technology has been adopted in the activities and the running of many companies, no technology has been able to take over the role of human resource completely (Mankin, 2009). As such, organisations still value their human resource, and they keep looking for new ways to be able to manage their human resource department adequately (Bach & Edwards, 2013). Human resource planning is, therefore, an essential activity in any organisation. It refers to the process of systematically and repeatedly reviewing the requirements of the human resource department to ensure that a supply of enough workforce meets the demand for labour. Human resource planning helps an organisation to properly plan on how to achieve its goals through the available human resource. Therefore while analysing human resource planning, it is crucial to consider requirement as well as the availability of employees.
