The TOW had far-reaching consequences on various areas of the economy in New Zealand (NZ). Previous studies postulate that the signing of the agreement happened as early as 1840 (Mautuge, 2015). Moreover, the citizens commemorate the treaty each year on sixth February. One of its significance is laying out the relationship between the indigenous and non-indigenous members of the country (Mautuge, 2015). Therefore, the treaty acts as a symbol of peace.
