The goal of this assignment is to allow each of you to apply the knowledge you have learned in this module by analyzing real speech samples. This worksheet will guide you through a morphosyntactic analysis of the speech of various young children. You should answer these questions as thoroughly as you can.

Homework 4-Transcript Analysis of Morphosyntactic Development

To start, please open the associated file from the CHILDES website (childes.psy.cmu.edu). This can be found in the same location that you accessed this prompt (under the ‘Homework 4’ tab inside the ‘Homework’ module). This file contains a transcript from a child named Naima. You will use this file to complete the questions in this assignment. For this analysis, you can initially restrict yourself to a set of 100 utterances, although you may have to look outside those utterances to answer some of the questions (make liberal use of the search function).
