In 2016, NFL star Colin Kaepernick decided not to stand when the national anthem was played, an occasion which brought further issues that are tearing the nation apart. Instead of Colin standing during the national anthem, he remained seated on the bench. His main intention was to dispute the massive murder of defenceless blacks being killed by police and the officers going scot free. Colin decided to kneel on the sidelines after having a conversation with a veteran on his disrespectful attitude towards the national anthem. However, there occurred a reaction against Kaepernick and he became jobless in the 2017-18 season league. This concern became heated when Trump went on TV and named the protestors “sons of bitches” and that they need to be fired. Other teammates joined Kaepernick in the protest with the same intent of demanding change. Due to social injustices, disputing the National Anthem is the proper thing to do. The reality that Kaepernick’s dissent is being depicted as impolite, despite kneeling being long regarded as a show of respect, entails more to do concerning what he is disputing than how he is protesting.
