The police force in much of the United States suffers from poor relations with the communities that they serve as a result of the police injustices according to the people that they serve. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is not any different following the numerous cases of injustices and evident cases of police misconduct even as the carried out their responsibilities. The numerous cover-ups for police injustice thus have contributed heavily on the fact that the community in New Orleans has for a long time been reluctant to work with the police (Kahn, 2010). The reforms in place thus are directed toward rebuilding the police-community trust relationship.
