Summary:
Your final paper should be between 4-6 pages in length, excluding the references page. It should also meet APA guidelines of 12-point font, doubled-spacing, 1-inch margins, and references throughout. Please proofread closely.
The final paper should include an introduction that introduces the social problem and explains how it meets the qualifications of a social problem as discussed in week 1. Make sure to bold the problem statement and grab the reader’s attention in the introduction. Other sections that should be discussed include the scope and consequences, current and historical data, the responses of society, and solutions. You should end with a conclusion indicating your thoughts on the social problem. An outline to help you construct this paper is listed below.  The outline specifies the required information that should be addressed in each section, such as theories within the scope/consequences section.
Introduction with the problem statement
Scope and consequences of the problem: Add the three major sociological theories (functionalism, conflict, and symbolic interactionism) in this section to explain the issue from different perspectives
Compare current and historical data: Discuss ideas of social science experts about the social problem. You can use experts from the textbook and/or from external references. Also, give current data on the occurrence today versus in the past based on a reputable research article. One helpful website is listed below that gives statistics https://oasis.state.ga.us/
Discuss society’s response to the problem: How is society responding to this social problem? What are the solutions being implemented?
Conclusion
References page: You should have at least 4 references. One reference should be the textbook and three external references should discuss data, society’s responses, and solutions.
