Post- civil war can be considered a splendid failure because it did not provide the Afro Americans with any little freedom before segregation occurred. The Afro Americans were still subjected to retaliation from the South in that they were against the abolition of slavery. This was the reason behind Eric Foyer’s position on the reconstruction period[1]. The aftermaths of Reconstruction largely contributed to segregation and extreme conflict among different races throughout the better part of the twentieth century.
