Lincoln as President

Abraham Lincoln stands out in the archives of US history as one of the most impactful leaders the United States and essentially the world has ever had. He became the president in 1861 and was assassinated at the beginning of his second term in 1865. Lincoln’s presidency was the first Republican regime in the United States.  He presided over the end of slavery, the Civil War, the preservation of the Union and the protection of democracy. He managed to unite the United States despite the monumental challenges it encountered during his presidency. This paper analyzes Abraham Lincoln's presidency, legacy, and accomplishments. It establishes his influence on the history of the US.
