Dr. Kelley gives examples of not only the concerns faced by African American women but also documents the roles played by women in the four (4) different boycotts she discussed. Briefly describe the concerns specific to African American women who traveled via trains and street cars in the South.  Do you think that the fact that women were doubly vulnerable added to their motivation to take part in the organization of boycotts and other protests?
