Strategies
Format
The authors used simple formats that can be easily handled by kids. All the books evaluated averaged below thirty pages, and every book had approximately fifteen two-page spreads. The books’ formats were thus comprehensive and efficient for children of the target age.
Text
The analysis of the text used in all the storybooks showed the proper composition of the content with simple sentences. The paragraphs were short and made of active verbs to easily convey the message into the young reader’s mind. Effective reading and learning among children are achieved by incorporation of various literary techniques in writing. From the module, it was noted that techniques such as alliteration, rhythm, repetition, and simile were manipulated by the authors to relay the intended message in a more creative strategy. Questions that sparked the reader’s curiosity and their desire to read more were asked at the last paragraph in every page of the storybooks.
