Paintings, like other forms of art, capture aspects and perspectives and can be accurate records of history or experiences. When artists paint, they often capture different elements of an object or imagination within the frames of a given canvass. To achieve different effects, painters are careful to use different color shades and space. Therefore, to understand a painting one has to be a keen observer to feel and comprehend the different moods, tones, and texture of a painting. It is also imperative to identify the depth, and scope of the picture.  To understand a painting, one has to note the simple and, even at times, the subtle aspects of a painting, and their implications as they define our overall experience with art. Thus, with particular regards to the application of different dimensions and elements of observation, this paper will delve into the visual analysis of the Moghul portraits by one unknown Moghul artist and Simon Shijnvoet.
