The wine industry has developed steadily from the early days of winemaking to recent times which are characterized by modern methods of manufacture. The New World has a stronger competitive advantage over the Old World due to its ability to take advantage of economies of scale, new means of production, and better quality of raw materials. This paper will discuss old and modern wine production and marketing, and also find solutions to the challenges they face in manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of their products.
