I agree with you that the patient-and-family centered care (PFCC) has four core concepts as; dignity and respect, information-sharing, participation, and collaboration. Therefore, healthcare professionals attending to patients and their families are expected to integrate the four concepts of PFCC in their practice. Respecting patients and other healthcare stakeholders allows healthcare workers to incorporate different insights (Eklund et al., 2019). Besides, respectful environment provides comfort that allows healthcare workers to engage various key players. Healthcare environment has different stakeholders mandated with the collective goal of providing quality healthcare services (Vaeza et al., 2020). Unfortunately, disrespect and lack of dignity interfere with collective contribution from healthcare stakeholders. Information-sharing in PFCC allows healthcare professionals to engage other people and institutions with reliable information. The exchange reduces chances of medication errors. Similarly, information-sharing creates room for consultation. The collaboration in healthcare settings guarantees reliable information-sharing and professional participation in healthcare service delivery. Personal diversities may interfere with collaboration in healthcare organizations.
