Topic: The late 19th and early 20th century in Europe was extremely productive time in terms of artistic production and innovation. Most of us are very familiar with Spanish painters like Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso. Indeed, the Surrealist and Cubist movements were groundbreaking and had an impact on art all over the world. Still, there were also other artists that were doing extraordinary things in Spain at the time, not only in painting, but also in film, architecture, and literature. What I am asking you to do for this assignment is to create a brief overview of two of the most renowned Spanish artists/painters/architects/writers of this time period. For each, please provide some basic biographic information as well as a description of the type of art they created (basically, you will state what they are famous for). Finally, I want you to do a search online and examine the artistic production of each of them and state whether or not their work is appealing to you and why (or why not). The paintings and other artwork can be found by simply doing a Google image search for each artist, but I included links to mini biographies for the painters.
